This citrus electrolyte spritzer has become one of my favorite recipes because it's both delicious and functional. The natural sugars from the orange and lime help to move sodium into the cells in order to restore the body's natural electrolyte balance. Using himalayan pink salt is superior to table salt because it provides small amounts of trace minerals like magnesium and potassium that are also important for hydrating well. Enjoy post-workout or pool / beach-side.
- 2x juicing oranges
- 1/2 lime + 1 slice (for garnish)
- Himalayan sea salt, to taste*
- Sparkling mineral water
- 1 tsp agave
Directions: Juice the oranges and lime. Combine with agave. Add sparkling water and sea salt to taste.
For the adult-only fancy cocktail version of this, add tequila for a fancy cocktail.
I highly recommend you purchase a juicer - something like this.
*Optional - line the rim of your glass with sea salt, like a margarita
