Apple Cinnamon Smoothie

 

Turn to page 285 in the Zero Belly Smoothies book and you'll find my pretty little recipe staring right back at you. And its as delicious (if not more) than it looks. 

I couldn't keep this recipe from the world much longer because its, yes - it's that good. 

A recipe of mine is never complete without some healthy nuggets of knowledge . . . The cinnamon balances blood sugar levels, curbing the appetite and preventing aimless snacking throughout the morning hours. Plus the matcha powder contains catechins like EGCG that help to stimulate fat loss from storage sites. 

Without further ado ... 

Ingredients

  • 1 apple
  • Handful of kale, deveined
  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 scoop plain plant-based protein powder - try Sunwarrior or Fit Food by Xymogen
  • cinnamon and nutmeg to taste

Blend on high for 45 - 60 seconds until completely smooth(ie).* Enjoy!

*pun intended (yep, I'm really cool).
